The event type workshops is an easy and hands-on way to discuss hot topics, hold meetings, or teach an introductionary class to LinuxTag visitors. All projects and speakers are invited to propose and hold workshops.

Contents

Time and location

Workshops take place in the sub rooms in Hall New York 2, 7.1.a, from Wednesday, May 23 to Friday, May, 25. On Saturday another event (the RootCamp) has booked this space. Typically a workshop takes one hour and may take longer with a good reason. Workshops are mainly self serviced, so please be kind to your fellow workshoppers. Wiki rules and netiquette apply.

Layout of the rooms: New York (hall 7.1a)

Note that the other rooms in the plan are reserved for special events and can not be booked for workshops.

Signing up

It is necessary to follow this simple sign-up-process:

  1. Log into the vCC and get an account, if you don't have one.
  2. Enter a new abstract (disregard all infomration about deadlines etc.).
  3. Choose "Workshop" as category.
  4. Remember your Workshop ID. It looks like #18987.
  5. Select a free slot in the table below and enter this ID. Please leave the noted Event ID intact.

Managing Contact, confirmation

Once every n days, our workshop contact, N. N. (mailto:vp@linuxtag.org) checks this tabel and enters the workshop applications into the vCC. Once in there, it will be distributed to all our channels like the web, printed program flyers for next day etc.

Equipment

There is power, tables, a bunch of chairs, and network available. Please bring everything else you need by yourself.

Additionally there are projectors with standard VGA connectors in rooms New York 2.1 and 2.2, but not in 2.3.

Application Timetable

Please enter vCC Workshop IDs into the table cells and leave the existing Event IDs intact. Bold entries are fixed Events in vcc.
